Normally, I avoid these kinds of Facebook videos like the plague. But I watched this one out of curiosity. And it brought a genuine smile to my face. That woman's pure joy and laughter was just infectious.

I kinda agree! It's weird and creepy, but I laughed with her. She even admitted it was strange but it brought her joy without hurting anybody else so why not.

I kind of want one of those now.... I am the goofy Uncle; even my nieces and nephews call me "munka munka" because they couldn't say "Uncle Michael" and it stuck... this would be a hit for me, I think.

If you've never heard it, you should check out the Star Wars radio drama. It's pretty great. Lucas, in a rare act of awesomeness gave the radio rights to NPR for a buck.

I'm thinking that it might not have enough identifiable characters to draw in casual fans like Vader or Tarkin.

Frankly, if the trailer was any indication of what the film was before the supposed to be done reshoots, I think it being tonally darker may have played against it. Unfortunately, it being unashamedly a war movie is something I think many were looking for.

So, for the anthology films, is Disney okay with a great movie that doesn't do AS WELL at the box office but gets a great deal of acclaim? Or will it require elements to bring in casual fans to every movie even if they don't really fit?

This is my question as well, and my actual worry as well.

Throwing in characters that do nothing to the story puts you in a similar position to the other film we were discussing yesterday IMO.

I really doubt this story. Disney controls the news better than anyone, and I have a hard time imagining something negative coming out this early.

With that said, there is quite a bit of risk as the studio faces the decision-making process on tone in classic Star Wars films vs. films in the Star Wars universe. Do they have to be the same? No. Does the general public share that belief? I'm not sure that they do, unfortunately.
