How do you personally divide texas into regions? Geographically, culturally, some other way? What are those regions?

Bonus - rank those regions from best to worst.

For me I think

Aggieland/Brazos Valley > Gulf Coast > greater Houston > Hill Country > Piney Woods > South Texas > DFW > West Texas > North Texas/Panhandle

I'm probably missing regions but that's the best I got

serious question.

Why would you rank BCS higher than any other area?

Edit to add:
Fair enough. I just find the whole area rather boring. It was great going to school there, but I am glad I do not have to return.

Because its my favorite place in Texas. I visit Texas about 10-12 times per year and 8-10 of those are to BCS.

but seriously:

Hill Country - Austin, SA, F'burg
Gulf Coast - Corpus, Houston, Beaumont
South Texas - South of SA to the RGV
North Texas - DFW to Abilene-ish
Piney Woods - East of I-45 to Louisiana
West Texas - Lubbock, Midland, etc. Pretty much starts once you leave SA heading west
Far West Texas - Where you start seeing mountains
The Panhandle - blah.
Aggieland - because it doesn't seem to fall under the other categories really

All I know is that if you start from any edge...the closer you get to Austin the more expensive the houses, hookers, and blow become.

Can't do it in just two regions. You need at least five for it to make any sense. I keep telling people up here that Texas has five distinct accents, and that goes right over their heads. They think all Texans sound like Foghorn Leghorn.

ugh. The whole 100 mile radius around Houston is an ass-ugly sheethole. Flat and so boring.

I wish B/CS was prettier.

Hill country is beautiful. So are the mountains in the Big Bend region

Movie is so great. I had never heard of it but was flipping channels one night and stopped for one of those interview segments and was like, wtf, did someone actually do a documentary about people I had to deal with when I worked in East Texas?

I never would have guessed that you, Rocky Mountain High, can't handle flat terrain.

Despite the handle, I'm actually not all that outdoorsy. Yes, I love hiking and skiing and all that, but it's not a huge passion of mine. I do like John Denver, though.

You should go to Austin once before you die. It isn't as bad as the Longhorn jokes make it sound.
