Yeah, LLWS is a joke for mainly this reason. At least in Texas, if you're playing little league it's because you weren't good enough to make a select team.

Agree. He does it quickly after delivering a pitch, when a lot of that kind of behavior is not even done consciously. Your mind is still on the pitch you just threw and the call the ump is in the middle of making. Lots of guys have their little tics and hitches after delivering a pitch.

He also goes to the rosin bag after doing it and rubs the ball on his pants, which tells me its more of a tic that he then ends up needing to dry off from. Seems like more of a disadvantage than an advantage.

Probably would have been a good idea. Not saying it just because of the hit, but you're right - should have loaded them up.

Not sure he was thinking clearly at that point though. He put the outfielders in the right spot but the middle infield was out of position.

If a kid has the physical gifts to play it's not really going to matter what team or league a parent gets their kid on. 'Select' is oftentimes a matter of parents willing to pay for their kids to play and travel.

But don't worry about my opinion. If you were or your kid is on a select team then you're special.
