Yeah, I'm old. Best fajitas ever imo. That's when we used to get outside skirt steak in the US. Now Japan imports most of it.

Not a restaurant, but I missed (and still do) the milkshakes sold at the Rosenthal Meat Center. They were made with ice cream from the Texas A&M Creamery. I believe they cost $1.00 when I was a student in the'80s. They were amazing!

This is the gospel right here. That was the most underrated and under appreciated eating spot in BCS in the 80's. It was the original Los Nortenos but ended up losing the name and had to open under Hermanos. Great people, great food.

For a boy from Mexico and then the RGV it was like an oasis in the desert in the sense that the cooks and the servers would make stuff for me, and later a group of us, off the menu. And when they would cook something special like Pozole or true Mexican style carnitas they would call us and let us know. They would also occasionally make hand made corn tortillas and real salsa's.
