Agenda is out folks. Tell your boss you're taking off on Thursday to comment in person and make sure you take 10 minutes to give your feedback on the proposed reg changes online. Lots of important stuff.

~7000 acres of land acquisitions
Order establishing the hunting seasons and permits on WMA and State Parks
Mountain Lion hunting regs
CWD rule changes (several changes here)
Trail funding / construction

Something for everyone but the saltwater fishermen... That was Jan/March

"Mountain lion hunting regs" is a bit of a stretch.

The canned hunting ban is an appeasement for something that doesn't occur.

The other proposal is in regard to trapping them.

Public comments can move the needle. If you don't like the proposed regs, then show up in person and tell them about it.

Everyone is happy to complain about what happens in Austin, but only a few dozen can be bothered to show up, and usually only a few hundred take the 5-10 minutes to leave a comment online. If you can't be there in person, I think they're still allowing public comment by phone also.

From the May 22 Work Session in the quail update:

"Quail populations remain robust and widespread, but like other grasslands bird species, they have experienced regional declines."

Well hell, with an intro like that, there's a quail under every bush here in Texas.
