TAMPA, Fla. — At 5:51 p.m. ET, the PA system inside the main ballroom of the Marriott Water Street relayed this message.
“Attention guests, a fire emergency has been detected inside the building.”
Equipped with flashing lights, the beeping was short-lived.
However, no reporters moved. No panic was struck.
After another full day of covering SEC Media Days, it seemed the possibility of missing deadline was somehow still less favorable than possible burns.
