Texas A&M adds former Northwestern DE Anto Saka via transfer portal

Former Northwestern defensive end Anto Saka has announced his intentions to transfer to Texas A&M. At 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds, the pass rusher has recorded 12 sacks across 31 games in his collegiate career thus far.

Texas A&M has landed a commitment from Anto Saka — a 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive end/edge player who starred at Northwestern for the past three seasons.

Considered one of the top pass rushers available in the transfer market, the Baltimore, Maryland native becomes Mike Elko’s 11th addition this offseason.

Saka has played in 31 games and logged 12 sacks in his collegiate career so far. He has forced three fumbles, as well. In 2024, he was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention following a campaign that saw him log five tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.

While his numbers dipped this past fall, he did find his way onto Bruce Feldman’s annual “Freaks List” and has an immense amount of upside as a disruptive presence off the edge.

You just have to sign a DE named Saka.
I resolve in 2026 to be more tolerant and respectful of trolls and emotionally fragile, overly pessimistic posters so they don’t run crying to the mods and have me banned for three days.

I would think that, unless a guy is actually trying to graduate from their current school this spring, then they will be here for the spring.

All but one of the high school guys are early enrolling except one. I feel sure part of the deal is the portal guys are here for the offseason and spring practice. I cannot see a guy with one year left showing up in the summer. If you want to play you need to be here for the offseason in my opinion.

Edge is a newly made up term for a DE or a rush OLB in a 3-4 scheme. It's all the same.
