All-SEC Aggies: Texas A&M represented by five all-conference selections
An ultra-successful regular season for Texas A&M softball.
On Friday, five members of the 2025 Fightin’ Texas Aggie softball team were chosen as All-SEC selections.
The all-conference picks are headlined by first-teamers Emiley Kennedy and Mya Perez, along with second-teamers Koko Wooley, Amari Harper and Mac Barbara.
Trisha Ford was not named SEC Coach of the Year after leading the Aggies to a 43-9 regular-season record and a 16-7 finish in the SEC.
Oklahoma’s Patty Gasso was awarded the honor.
While the Sooners have been wildly productive in year one of the league, what Ford has done in Aggieland has been nothing short of remarkable.
This year marked the first time A&M has concluded its regular season with single-digit losses since 2017’s Women’s College World Series team, and it is the program’s second-place standing is the highest finish since joining the SEC.
Since the creation of the ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll in 2005, Ford became the second fastest head coach to bring a new program to No. 1, doing so in just 159 games in Aggieland.
Ford not receiving even a co-Coach honor is a major snub by the league office.
Outside of Ford, her 2025 squad was well represented.
First-Team
Emiley Kennedy - Left-Handed Pitcher - Senior from The Woodlands, Texas
2025 Stats: 21 starts, 20-4, 2.68 ERA, 143.2 IP, 138 K, 77 BB
Kennedy continues to bolster an outstanding career in Maroon & White. During her senior campaign, she holds a 20-4 record with a 2.68 ERA, while throwing 17 complete games in 21 starts. In 87 innings pitched against SEC competition, she has struck out 82 with a 12-2 mark in conference play.
Mya Perez - Infielder - Sophomore from Corona, California
2025 Stats: 53 games, .450/.579/.836, 30 R, 63 H, 14 HR, 68 RBI
Slugger Mya Perez earned first team recognition after leading the Aggies in batting average (.450), hits (63), walks (34), home runs (14), RBIs (68), total bases (117) and slugging percentage (.846) during the regular season. Showing tremendous strides as a player this season, Perez could finish with the highest batting average in an individual season for an Aggie, sitting at .450 as she chases Kendall Richard’s .454 clip.
Second-Team
Koko Wooley - Infielder - Senior from La Porte, Texas
2025 Stats: 46 games, .385/.444/.510, 43 R, 55 H, 0 HR, 24 RBI
Ever-reliable shortstop Koko Wooley was a second-team pick and has been a staple in Ford’s program the past four years. Sitting in fourth in career hits and fifth in runs at A&M, Wooley is also top five in stolen bases (79) and has the third-most triples of any Aggie with 17. Not only has the La Porte, Texas, native been a reliable bat in the lineup, but her skills in the infield shine every weekend. Wooley’s four errors in 2025 are a career low in 45 games played.
Amari Harper - Infielder/Utility Player - Junior from Corona, California
2025 Stats: 45 games, .390/.517/.619, 40 R, 41 H, 5 HR, 33 RBI
A second-team selection, utility player Amari Harper surged in SEC play, hitting .382 against conference opposition and a ridiculous .576 in the month of March during A&M’s 13-4 stretch. Bouncing back from a finger injury in the first game of the season, the junior has been utilized in multiple positions and adds length to an already-loaded middle of the order.
Mac Barbara - Designated Player/Catcher - Senior from Long Beach, California
2025 Stats: 52 games, .368/.474/.632, 28 R, 53 H, 10 HR, 58 RBI
A transfer from San Diego State, Mac Barbara garnered her first career All-SEC recognition. Known for her ability to hit for power at her previous stops, Barbara transferred to Aggieland, looking to utilize the long ball night in and night out with 45 career home runs to her name. This season, she has hit 10 and been a reliable weapon for Ford’s Aggies.
