2026 Port Arthur Memorial LB Tank King commits to Texas A&M
Some Fourth of July fireworks for Mike Elko today as Tank King, the tackling machine, is headed to Aggieland.
One of the top 2026 defensive prospects in the Lone Star State, the Port Arthur Memorial linebacker announced his verbal commitment to Texas A&M today.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder burst onto the recruiting scene as a freshman when he led a top 5 5A squad in tackles as a 14-year-old.
Since then, King’s elite nose for the football, sure tackling and sideline-to-sideline capabilities have caught the eye of college coaches across the country. He gets his name called an awful lot on Friday nights because he's always around the ball. Over the course of his recruitment, A&M remained a consistent suitor behind the work of Elko and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman.
King chose the Aggies over plenty of offers but had a top four that included Michigan, Notre Dame and Texas. He is the 23rd pledge in the 2026 cycle for Elko & Co.
