Good points on the social media stuff. As a coach that has to kill you.

All the injuries are bad! We all hope these young men heal quickly and completely! I really feel for Matthews and really wanted to see him excel on the field this year. I've had three shoulder surgeries myself and hopefully he had a physician like I did for the last two.

Does Jimbo seem calmer today? Why doesn't Elko get up here?

Jalen's analysis is spot on. Hopefully Jalen has a big Saturday!

Interesting comment "I believe the biggest threat to athletes today is Mental Health...not physical."
I don't do social media (twitter/facebook) never have and never will, but if it was causing me that kind of mental anguish I'd sure as hell turn it off.
Why don't they?
Is social media playing that big a roll in their lives?

short answer is yes! Social media is how this generation communicates asking them to turn it off would be the equivalent of asking them to turn into Hellen Keller. No voice /no hearing because that's how they talk to their friends and friends talk to them.

Not only is it how this generation communicates, it's also how many of them make money. Social and financial success are dependent on followers. And if you want to keep and grow followers you have to have content. What's the content? The content is their life or a significant portion of it.

ETA: and with the advent of NIL, that isn't changing anytime soon. You could really sense Jimbo's frustration with that.

Thanks all for the feedback.
Admittedly I'm an old MF but if Twitter, Facebook and social media in general are causing these kinds of mental issues I just think God I grew up in the 50s and 60s when this technology did not exist.
No way I'll ever be convinced that social media is a positive influence on our society.
As Rush Limbaugh said many times Twitter is a sewer and he is right… again!
God help you if you're trapped in a social media mindset disorder.
