Elite 2022 Powell (TN) defensive tackle Walter Nolen commits to Texas A&M

The Aggies have made a big-time addition to their already stellar class today as 2022 Powell (TN) DT Walter Nolen‍ gave his verbal pledge to Jimbo Fisher and company.

Nolen, considered by some to be the top overall player in the country, chose Texas A&M over Georgia and Tennessee in the end, but he held scholarship offers from just about everyone in the nation. This was an enormous recruiting win for Elijah Robinson and Mike Elko. 

At 6-4, 320 pounds, Nolen is an imposing presence on the line of scrimmage. He plays with remarkable quickness and agility for a kid his size. Those advanced athletic traits coupled with his insane power are what make him such a highly regarded prospect. He flashes elite get-off capability and causes consistent disruption at the point of attack due to his size, strength and suddenness. You can view his junior tape below. 

Overall, Nolen becomes the 15th member of the 2022 commit class, and he joins Katy’s Malick Sylla‍ and Argyle’s Jadon Scarlett‍ on the defensive line.
