Jimbo Fisher and Co. have made speed a top priority for the 2022 class, and on Tuesday, Texas A&M received a huge boost in the speed department when Fayetteville (AR) wide receiver Isaiah Sategna‍ announced his commitment.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound standout is regarded as the top football prospect in Arkansas, and one of his most impressive attributes is his world-class speed. He has been a game-breaking receiver for the Fayetteville offense the last few years, routinely running past and away from opponents.

After moving from Austin (TX) Westlake to Fayetteville in the spring of his freshman year, Sategna quickly made his presence felt on the football field. In his first varsity season as a sophomore, he recorded 691 yards and a touchdown on 35 receptions. He followed the sophomore effort with 839 yards and 8 touchdowns on 39 receptions as a junior.

He chose the Aggies out of a top 10 which also included Arkansas, Baylor, Florida State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas Tech and USC, and he also held offers from the likes of Auburn, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State and Tennessee. Wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig led Texas A&M’s recruiting efforts.

Sategna is the Aggies’ eighth commitment of the 2022 recruiting class and joins receiver Noah Thomas‍. He is the third No. 1 overall prospect in Arkansas to choose the Aggies joining OL Chris Morris of West Memphis in 2020 and CB Dreyden Norwood of Fort Smith Northside in 2021.

In addition to his performance on the football field, Sategna is also regarded as one of the top track athletes in the country. As a freshman, he earned Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Track Newcomer of the Year honors, and he was named the 2020 Gatorade Arkansas Boys Track and Field Player of the Year.

During the 2020 indoor track season, he finished first in the state in the 60m hurdles (7.88), 55m hurdles (7.48), long jump (23-1.5), 200m (21.93), 400m (49.54), and 60m (6.86). As a freshman during the 2019 outdoor season, he recorded the top 300m hurdle time (37.67) and long jump (23-11) in Arkansas, and a 21.93 200m and a 10.8 100m.

Sategna plans to compete in both track and football at Texas A&M. His father is Arkansas assistant track coach Mario Sategna and his mother, Dahlia Sategna, competed in the 1992 Olympics for Jamaica. His parents were standout track athletes at LSU under current Texas A&M track coach Pat Henry.
