One of the best defensive backs in the 2022 class in Texas, Beaumont West Brook safety Bryce Anderson‍ has given his verbal commitment to Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M. His pledge is the 13th in the Aggies’ 2022 class and the third in the secondary and represents a significant head-to-head recruiting win for the Aggies over Texas.

A longtime LSU verbal, Anderson reopened his recruitment in January and then announced a final two of Texas A&M and Texas on July 4. He also held offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Anderson is a versatile athlete who has been featured at multiple positions for Bruins head coach Eric Peevey. In his junior year, Anderson lined up mostly at quarterback, but he’s been a top-tier defensive back prospect since emerging on the national recruiting scene as a sophomore. Anderson is a widely respected and extremely well-liked young man by his teammates and coaches, who rave about his leadership qualities, accountability and reliability.

On the field, Anderson is always around the football. He has impressive numbers on the track, and that speed shows up on his tape. Combine that speed with his advanced vision and feel for the game, and you get elite sideline-to-sideline range as a safety and plenty of one-on-one ability as a corner. His versatility makes him a prime candidate for early playing time because he can play so many spots. The 6-0, 190 pounder also shows toughness and fearlessness in run support.

You can view his full junior highlights below.
