Magnolia offensive lineman Matthew Wykoff commits to Texas A&M

Offensive line coach Josh Henson added to his group of commits in the class of 2021 today as Magnolia’s Matthew Wykoff‍ made the call to play his college football just up the road in College Station, joining Trey Zuhn‍ as a future Aggie o-lineman.

Wykoff chooses A&M over offers from Penn State, Notre Dame, Texas, Auburn, USC, Arizona State, Mississippi State and many others. He becomes A&M’s 9th commit of the 2021 class and the fourth in-state commit on the offensive side of the ball to go along with Denton Guyer’s Eli Stowers‍, North Shore’s Shadrach Banks‍, and Katy’s Fernando Garza‍.

At 6-5, 305 pounds, Wykoff is an incredibly cerebral kid who excels in the classroom, but he’s also mobile, aggressive and versatile as an offensive lineman. While he plays primarily at tackle for Magnolia, he possesses a skill set that will project anywhere along the offensive front. During my last interview with him, he even mentioned that he’d begun working on snapping the ball because he thought his mental acumen would suit him well at center.

Regardless of where he lines up in college, he’ll bring a high level of technique and upside to the Aggie OL room. You can view his junior tape below.
