Denton Guyer has been a popular spot for head coach Jimbo Fisher and his staff. The Aggies secured a commitment from standout quarterback Eli Stowers‍ this summer, and now Stowers’ teammate Deuce Harmon‍ has decided to make Texas A&M his choice as well.

Standing in at 5-foot-10, 185-pounds, Harmon has been a standout on offense, defense and special teams for the Guyer Wildcats. On defense, he is a physical cornerback with flexible hips, quick feet and a long wingspan. He has a stout build and he is known as well for his big hit ability as is his cover skills.

The combination of athleticism and physicality quickly drew the attention of Texas A&M coaches as well as offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Texas, TCU, Ole Miss, Oregon, Arkansas, Baylor, Cal, TCU, Texas Tech, USC, Washington State, Virginia Tech and Mississippi State.

The Aggies offered early, and from the beginning, Texas A&M caught his attention.

“I love the football program,” Harmon said after receiving his offer in September. “The coaching staff is great. I love how they greeted me and remembered me after going over there one time for football camp this summer. They are a hardworking football team.”

“I could fit in great with A&M,” he added. “I see they like to play man, and that’s what I like to do. Their DBs are physical, and I think my physicality would fit perfectly.”

This fall, Aggieland also made a strong impression.

“The game atmosphere. I still haven’t been to another school that has that,” Harmon said. “Just everything over there. It’s fun outside of football. I haven’t really gotten deep into the education and stuff, but other than that, everything is there that I would like to be in.”

New defensive backs coach TJ Rushing quickly made sure Harmon knew he was a priority target once he arrived, and after attending Texas A&M’s Super Bowl Party, Harmon made it clear the Aggies had moved to the top of his list.

This spring Harmon narrowed his list to 11 and then he narrowed his list to seven. After taking a little more time to think about his decision, Harmon decided he was ready to make the call and commit to the Aggies

Harmon becomes the ninth commitment of the 2021 class and he joins friend and longtime teammate Stowers. He is also the Aggies’ sixth commitment in the last month.

As a junior, Harmon earned first-team all-district and first-team all-Denton county honors. He is currently ranked No. 23 in the TexAgs 2021 Texas Top 100, and he is the top cornerback on the board in the 2021 class.
