Before recruiting and football, Fort Collins (CO) Fossil Ridge 2021 OL Trey Zuhn‍ had a strong connection to Texas A&M and College Station. His grandfather is a professor at Texas A&M, his dad grew up in College Station and family trips to the area have been a yearly occurrence as long as Zuhn can remember. Today he announced he would return to his Texas roots and spend his college days at Texas A&M.

When Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies extended an offer following a strong summer camp performance, Texas A&M became a leader on the recruiting front.

“It’s always been a goal of mine to have the opportunity to play at Texas A&M because that’s where all of my family has gone and all of my family has lived,” Zuhn said. “So I’ve kind of grown up an Aggie. So it was just amazing to finally accomplish that.”

During the fall, he returned to Aggieland for his first game day experience at Kyle Field. Once again, the Aggies left a strong impression.

“I think my biggest takeaway from this weekend is what a family feel it had to it,” said Zuhn following his visit. “All of the assistant coaches and support staff that I met at summer camp came up to me and welcomed me back and started talking to me like it was a week ago.

“I feel like the coaches made a big effort to talk with me and my parents both before and after the game. Coaches' wives were coming up and welcoming us, and the fact that Coach Fisher was making the rounds, talking to all of the recruits even after a loss was really cool.”

The 6-foot-6, 285-pound lineman is regarded as a four-star prospect and is known for his big frame and a mean streak in the trenches. In addition to the Aggies, he also held offers from Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Colorado, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Penn State.

Before announcing his decision, Zuhn narrowed his list to Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. He becomes the third member of Texas A&M’s 2021 recruiting class and the first offensive lineman. He joins Eli Stowers‍ and Shadrach Banks‍ as 2021 commitments.
