It’s not often you see a kid with the talent and upside of 2021 Port Arthur Memorial DE Jordon Thomas‍ ‍ go unnoticed in the recruiting world. Coming off a solid 2018 sophomore campaign in the Golden Triangle, it took a while before college coaches started figuring out just what kind of talent Thomas had the potential to be. Slowly but surely, he began popping up on the radar of not only Power 5 schools, but recruiting sites as well.

Thomas’ performances at a few of the state’s top summer camps meant his profile skyrocketed by the time the calendar turned to August. In our TexAgs rankings, he went from unranked to inside the state’s top 10 (No. 9 overall) and found himself amongst the elite in what looks to be a standout class for defensive ends in the state. Because of that rapid ascent, he’s the pick for this month’s D&D Moving & Storage Biggest Mover.

At 6-3, 240 pounds, Thomas is strong, agile and plays with a real nasty streak. He possesses great ability in his hands and maintains a low center of gravity when bending the edge. More power than finesse, Jordon’s violent nature at the point of attack makes him tough against the run. His tenaciousness is also highlighted when you watch his lateral pursuit of the football to the sideline or chasing down ball carriers from behind.

Heading into his junior season, Thomas holds offers from Texas A&M, LSU, Texas, TCU, Florida State, Baylor, Houston, Southern Miss and SMU. He’s considered a priority target for Mike Elko and Terry Price in the 2021 class.
