2020 Cibolo Steele CB Jaylon Jones commits to Texas A&M
Texas A&M has landed one of the state of Texas’ premier 2020 defenders today as Cibolo Steele cornerback Jaylon Jones made his verbal commitment to Jimbo Fisher and company. Jones is a rangy, long-armed, 6-3, 185 pound cover man that comes in at number 8 in the TexAgs Top 100.
The addition of Jones was made possible by the extensive recruiting efforts of defensive coordinator Mike Elko and cornerbacks coach Mo Linguist. What many thought was a Texas lean has turned into a recruiting win for the Aggies. Jones is A&M’s 7th commit in the 2020 class and becomes the second commit in the secondary, joining Major Burns who commited earlier today.
Jaylon checks all the boxes when searching for guys that can cover. His previously mentioned length coupled with loose hips and plus change of direction all combine to form what many believe to be the state’s top corners. You can view his junior highlight tape below.
Ultimately, Jones chooses the Aggies over Texas, Florida, TCU, Alabama, Georgia, and Arkansas, among others.
