Key notes from Don Yaeger interview

  • Well I think the most important thing I've learned about leadership is the relationship between humility and the ability to be successful as a leader. It is an often missed quality when we look at people. We want them to be able to line people up and be able to drive others. Everybody has an ego, so we are not saying that these are people who are ego-less. As John Wooden used to say "the key is not to think less of yourself, think of yourself less." When you see that, you see leaders who can deflect credit and accept blame.
