Notes from Steve McKinney's breakdown on Moore
-
The thing I love about Dan Moore is his size. He’s a big bodied kid, but for a kid his size he’s got good feet. He’s got a lot of power, he can move the line of scrimmage. I was pretty impressed on what he did as a freshman and I expect him to make a big jump from his freshman to sophomore year. I think this could be a breakout year for him.

He was able to come off the bench and do a good job on a really good defender in the Belk Bowl. Kudos to him and that should have given him a lot of confidence going into the offseason.

It’s different going from the scheme they had last year but I think the differences are good. The new scheme will be better at keeping the defense off balance, you're gonna do a little more bootleg stuff, more max protection. I think the defense was able to read our offensive tackles too easily in the past.

I think there is a potential to flip-flop of him and Carson Green at the tackle positions. I think Dan is more of a power run blocker. He reminds me of Waverly Jackson, a big-bodied, strong guy who can come off the ball. We need to move guys off the line of scrimmage a little bit better than we did last year.

Keeping the position coach in Jim Turner is going to help those young guys take a step forward. A lot of times you bring in a new OL coach and you don't see progress in the first year because the terminology is all different. Keeping Turner as the coach is going to be a huge benefit to that offensive line.
