Aggies secure commitment from 2019 Mansfield Legacy ATH Jeffery Carter
The recruiting momentum continues to build for Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M, and today the Aggies added another key piece to the puzzle when Mansfield Legacy ATH Jeffery Carter announced his commitment.
At 6-1 and 180 pounds, Carter has been a standout on both sides of the ball at Aledo as a sophomore and junior. In 2017, he recorded 10 receptions for 232 yards and a touchdown while recording 28 tackles, 2 INTs and 3 PBUs. He was named first-team all-district at cornerback.
He will finish his high school career at Mansfield Legacy, and wherever he lines up, his speed and burst are quick to draw attention. At cornerback, he is one of the top prospects in Texas.
Carter is the 23rd overall commitment of the Aggies' 2019 recruiting class, and he joins a defensive back class which includes cornerbacks Erick Young and Bobby Wolfe and safeties Demani Richardson and Brian Williams. He is currently ranked No. 20 in the TexAgs 2019 Texas Top 100, and he chose the Aggies over finalists Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma.
