Dallas Jesuit 2020 standout ATH EJ Smith‍ turned quite a few heads this fall, and the college coaches have already come calling. On Wednesday, Texas A&M joined his growing offer list.

“I was very happy to have the opportunity to go to the same school as my sister, it was a great feeling,” Smith said. “I think the program is great. I haven't really seen much, but what I have heard from my sister that it is a good program to be in.”

Smith also likes what he knows about new Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher.

“Coach Fisher is a great coach,” Smith said. “Seeing how he changed Florida State into an even better college than they were in the past was amazing.”

As Smith mentioned above, he is already familiar with the Texas A&M program since his sister, Rheagen Smith, is a freshman on the soccer team.

At this time, he does not have a visit scheduled to Texas A&M, but a trip to College Station is “a huge possibility.”

Smith is the son of former Dallas Cowboy running back and NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith, and he has received scholarships from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Jackson State, Kentucky, Ohio State, and SMU in addition to the Aggies. At this time, he is keeping an open mind to all of his options.

“I'm just looking forward to getting better as an athlete and as a leader,” Smith said. “Also I am just looking forward to what God has in plan for me.”

As a sophomore, Smith rushed for 1,277 yards and 26 touchdowns on 197 carries, and had 40 receptions for 627 yards and seven scores on his way to second-team all-state honors and 9-6A offensive newcomer of the year. He is currently ranked No. 14 in the TexAgs 2020 Texas Top 25.

Great running back and receiver. Hope he comes to A&M. Bring some of those linemen as well, there were some huge holes opened for up for EJ.
