A&M Softball completes comeback, beats Houston in season opener, 5-4
The Aggie Classic got off to a wild start, but Texas A&M pulled out a 5-4 victory over Houston in its season opener. The Aggies rallied from four runs down to win in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the seventh.
Houston scored early, putting up four runs off Aggie starter Samantha Show. Despite the rough start, Show pitched a complete game and struck out four Cougars.
Down 4-0, Texas A&M finally got on the board in the fifth to cut the Cougar lead to 4-1. The Aggies tied the game with three runs in the sixth.
Tori Vidales hit the game-winning single in the seventh frame, bringing Keeli Milligan in to score.
Sarah Hudek led the Aggies offensively with a double and two RBI in the contest.
The Aggies will continue with tournament play throughout the weekend. They will take on Boston College at 12:15 p.m. tomorrow and will face Texas Tech at 3:00 p.m.
