A six-run seventh inning propelled the Plowboys over the Farmers 10-6 in Wednesday’s Game 3 of the Omaha Cup at Olsen Field. The win cuts the Farmers lead to 2-1 in the five-game series.

Chandler Morris got the scoring started early with a no-doubt solo blast to left field off Farmers starter Dustin Saenz, but the Farmers answered right back with a two-run double by Hunter Coleman in the bottom of the frame.

The Plowboys retook the lead in the third on an opposite field two-run homer by Logan Foster, but once again the Farmers responded, this time with a four-run inning of their own.

Freshman lefty Chandler Jozwiak earned the win on the mound, tossing four innings of scoreless relief for the Plowboys

With a runner on second and two outs, Will Frizzell singled home Braden Shewmake to tie the score at three. Cole Bedford drove in another moments later with an RBI single and then Jorge Gutierrez plated two with an RBI double into the right-center field gap.

No more runs were scored until the top of the sixth, when the Plowboys had a chance to score afew. After loading the bases against Asa Lacy with one out, they scratched one across on an error, but then Foster lined into a double play to end the inning.

Mason Corbett tied the game in the top of the ninth with a two-out, two-run single to center field, followed by a Cole Taylor two-run double that put the Plowboys up 8-6. After a run scored on a wild pitch by Jason Ruffcorn, Foster crushed an RBI double to left-center field to give them a 10-6 advantage.

Freshman lefty Chandler Jozwiak earned the win on the mound, tossing four innings of scoreless relief for the Plowboys, including striking out the side in the eighth. He allowed only three singles and struck out eight of the 12 batters he faced.

Saenz scattered seven hits and three runs over 4.2 innings while striking out five.

The teams will be back in action Thursday, November 2, for game four of the five-game set at 3 p.m. from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
