On Thursday, Arlington Lamar defensive end Bobby Brown threw everyone a bit of a curveball. Since the summer, he has planned to announce his college commitment on November 2, but on Thursday he announced he was he would make his commitment on Friday instead.

With everyone on pins and needles, the standout defender took to Twitter on Friday and let the world know he was pledging himself to Texas A&M.

The announcement arrives right before he takes his official visit to College Station, and there is no question about how important his decision is to Texas A&M’s recruiting efforts.

He is currently ranked No. 10 in the TexAgs 2018 Texas Top 118, and his pledge, along with Max Wright’s, gives the Aggies the top two defensive line prospects in the state. He is the third defensive lineman in the class, and he brings the total number of commitments to 16. Of those 16, 15 are Texas high school prospects.

The Aggies extended an offer following a June 2016 camp performance in Coppell, and since then, Brown has been back to College Station several times over the course of the recruiting process. Defensive line coach Terry Price led the Aggie efforts and developed a strong bond with Brown and his family from the beginning.

Before making his decision, Brown announced Alabama, Baylor, Florida State, Houston, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M as his finalists. He also took official visits to Oklahoma, Florida State and, most recently, Alabama.

Brown will graduate in December and enroll at Texas A&M in January.

Dominic Livingston would be crazy not to want to play on the same D-Line with Max Wright and Bobby Brown?
