Texas A&M Volleyball's Amy Nettles discusses SEC opener against LSU
On the overall attitude as the team heads into conference play...
"We see SEC season as its (own) season, so our record, although it matters, it doesn't really matter at this point. We are just looking forward to SEC, and each game is important. We are looking for an SEC championship, so we are really excited."
On mental and physical health traveling on the road this week...
"Absolutely, we are 100% mentally and physically prepared. It is early in the season so we are really fresh right now. This is the first time the freshmen get to travel and charter. It is so exciting. We get a lot of things many other teams don't get, so the atmosphere is excited and ready."
On her senior year and her reason for picking Texas A&M...
"My journey is just playing fearlessly and not having any regrets. This is my last time to play at LSU, so I am focusing on being my best for my team. I didn't grow up an Aggie. I actually have siblings who went to Texas, but when I came on my visit here, the girls were so welcoming and cool, which I didn't see anywhere else. The coaches are so smart. They were both Olympians, and they've coached 25-plus years at Texas A&M, so they have a lot of experience. They've developed a lot of players, so that's why I came."
On the preparation process for LSU...
"We have watched film on ourselves, and we are trying to tweak some things we can fix. We are watching film on LSU later today."
