TexAgs Top 118: Updated Texas Class of 2018 Recruiting Rankings

The rankings held pretty steady through this month’s meetings, but we did have a few movers and shakers.

Cornerback Anthony Cook remains the No. 1 overall prospect for the second month in a row, and Texas A&M now has two commitments in the top five with newly-committed Jalen Preston arriving at No. 3 and Max Wright checking in at No. 4. The only other committed prospect in the top five is Texas commit DeMarvion Overshown, who moves up from No. 8 to No. 5.

There are no new members in the top 10, but there was a shake-up with BJ Foster sliding to No. 8. Foster is battling back from a knee injury and has the potential to climb back up the top 10 with a strong senior season. Texas and Texas A&M are the only programs to hold multiple pledges within the top ten with the Longhorns holding four prospects and the Aggies touting three top-10 commitments.

New Texas A&M commitment Caleb Chapman is the biggest mover in the top 100. He makes the jump from 54 to 34 after a phenomenal spring and summer with Fast Houston 7-on-7. The 6-5, 210-pound receiver is uniquely gifted with one of the best blends of size and speed in the class. Plus, he has tremendous hands and body control.

There are also a few new additions to the list. Missouri commits Danny Gray and Cameron Wilkins debut at No. 99 and No. 102, respectively. East Texas standout Tevailance Hunt debuts at No. 107, and Klein Collins linebacker Donavan Mutin finds his way onto the list at No. 115.
