On reaching 600th Collegiate Win last week...

"It just made me full of gratitude for Lynn Hickey who hired us back in 1993 and is still in the business over at UTSA. She is kind of the one that got us into A&M and was such a wonderful mentor to us. For me, my very first job in San Fransisco, the staff that hired me there, I think of them a lot just because they allowed me an opportunity in coaching. I also just think of the former players who gave a lot of blood sweat and tears for the program and the sport its a fast moving, lots of training, really demanding sport and they went through a lot of grace and gave a lot of their own time and energy and I really appreciate it."

On the emotions the team felt after beating Missouri...

"It was so much fun. It was one of those wins that you know you have to have and leading up to it you just have the butterflies, excitement and nerves. Once the whistle blows it's just all get it done and it's a lot more calm once the game has started. The teams show that as well. They got out there with a lot of poise and confidence. Our block came on really strong, our defense was really really good. So it was a lot of fun to get that win."

On what the team has improved on this season...

"I think our chemistry is getting better. There's no question that three months ago we were still trying to figure out the dynamic of the team, like who was actually going to lead regardless of the title of captain. Who's going to lead and how good of followers are we going to be? How consistent will each of our players be and how reliable? All of those things you know, in the midst of playing some of the top teams in the nation so we really had some hard knocks early. We got in handed to us a couple of times but it really forced us to figure that out and as the season goes along you always improve. You always get more comfortable, more fluid with all the touches you get but I do think that it was more of the team dynamic and chemistry and individual team members feeling more comfortable with each other, their teammates and people just kind of growing up a little bit and experiencing the tough stuff and what it does for you."

On beginning the second half of conference play...

"Just really have to be good at one match at a time, one game at a time. The tendencies for teams to just get this moment on and just get that 'oh were just going to go and win out' and it is nice to set that as a goal, it's nice to have that as a look ahead. We are in November now, we can see the end and we are doing really well so now you have to slow them down with being patient, one at a time, take them as they come and never ever look ahead. That is probably our biggest challenge because we have a great schedule ahead of us for what we want to accomplish. It's a doable thing, it will be hard but it is doable and that's all we have control over so we are really focused on one match at a time."
