Softball: Aggies split double-header with No. 4 Alabama
On Saturday No. 15 Texas A&M was forced to play a double-header against No. 4 Alabama due to Sunday's weather predictions; the Aggies would need both games to take the series after dropping game one on Friday night.
A&M lost the day's first game, 8-7, falling short of what would have been an exciting comeback. Game two, however, was all Aggies — they mercy-ruled Alabama, 14-1, in five innings.

Texas A&M was in desperate need of a win after losing the first two games of the series. The desperation was apparent with the Aggies climbing back from a five-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh, only to fall short by a run. Game one could be summed up with one player: Tori Vidales. Vidales went three-for-three in game one.
All three hits were home runs.
Vidales hit a two-run blast in the first inning and a solo shot in the fourth. Her hits accounted for all three Aggie runs until the seventh inning. After a couple innings of rough pitching for A&M gave Alabama a five-run lead, the Aggie bats started to wake up and they fought their way back into the game. Alabama pitching gave A&M some free base runners and the Aggies took advantage, Ashley Walters hit a grand slam to bring the game within one.

Still, the drought for the Aggie offense was over — and after that it didn't just rain, it poured. Things started off in typical fashion for the Aggies, putting up one run in the bottom of the first. The second inning A&M took its momentum from game one and let the bats fly accumulating nine runs off of three home runs from Ashley Walters, Samantha Show, and Cali Lanphear.
Texas A&M didn't stop there, putting up another four runs in the fourth inning after Alabama managed to get on the scoreboard with a run.

Texas A&M dominated in game two, scoring fourteen runs off of fourteen hits. The A&M offense was the star of the show in game two, but Samantha Show's performance can't be overlooked — only allowing Alabama to score one run off of three hits. The combination of offense and defense from the Aggies allowed them to claim their much-needed win. Texas A&M would take the final game of the series with a score of 14-1.
The A&M offense was lead by Kaitlyn Alderink who went 4-for-6 on the day. Vidales went 6-for-6 with her three homers in game one. Walters went 4-for-8 on the day with five RBI. April Ryan went 3-for-6 with two RBI. Riley Sartain went 2-for-3 in game two of the double-header with four RBI's.
The Aggies break their losing streak with the 14-1 victory over Alabama. They return to action Wednesday in Huntsville against Sam Houston.
