Some Saturday quick hitters
Spent my morning and early afternoon at the 7 on 7 event in The Woodlands and was able to catch up with quite a few top prospects and A&M targets. I'll see if I can rifle these off bullet style. - Dematrius Davis told me he still speaks with Darrell Dickey and will very likely take a trip or two to College Station this spring. - Both Landen King and Ben Postma have begun to get to know TE coach James Coley. King is hearing a lot from Oklahoma St, Texas, and Texas Tech. Postma has some Big 12 visits lined up but will also be back in Aggieland in April. - 2022 CB offer Bobby Taylor has been getting a big push from Oklahoma, but he says he'll be at A&M for a practice in April. Taylor told me he's known TJ Rushing since his days at Memphis and is a fan of the way he teaches his corners. - Texas LB commit Derrick Harris Jr did not mention A&M when discussing schools that were still contacting him. - Plant City (FL) WR Mario Williams told me he's trying to line up a visit to Texas A&M. He said the only coach he talks to on staff is Jimbo Fisher. Nothing had been set up to this point in regards to that visit though. - 2022 CB offer Denver Harris says he hasn't set up any spring visits, but it's likely he'll make a trip or two to College Station. - I was told WR commit Shadrach Banks is very close to returning to 100%. Good news there. - Priority CB target Deuce Harmon confirmed with me that he will be on campus tomorrow for a day visit. He said he may take an official visit to Texas A&M soon, but he wasn't totally sure on that yet.- Dallas Kimball CB Ishmael Ibraheem will also be in town soon to watch practice. Oklahoma is a primary competitor, but the folks I talked to made it seem like A&M was right there. - Forrest City (AR) LB Marco Avant has been drawing interest from a few SEC programs with the Aggies being one of them. The 6-3, 215 pounder definitely has the frame of a backer in this conference. - Sounds like recent Baylor S commit Cisco Caston out of Weatherford will be making a quick trip up to College Station tonight to take a tour and visit with the staff.

Looking Ahead: An in-depth analysis of potential 2021 offensive targets
With National Signing Day in the books, most of the 2020 Texas A&M class seems to be locked down. This means a lot of focus from the program and fans alike will turn to the upcoming class. We take a hard look at some 2021 top prospects and where they stand with the Aggies.

Friday recruiting quick hitters
With the dead period coming to a close, the A&M staff (like most others around the country) hit the road on this Friday to check in on some top 2021 in state targets. Here's what I've been able to gather from across the state so far. If I get more returns on who some other coaches went to see, I'll post it later in the thread. With no CB or TE coach hired, defensive assistant Ish Aristide is able to go on the road. His prowess on the recruiting trail was well documented with the 2020 class, and he's in DFW today checking in on a pair of the Aggies premier targets in the secondary - Denton Guyer CB Deuce Harmon and Dallas Kimball CB Ishmael Ibraheem. Jason will be all over those two recruitments, but like Billy mentioned in his Q&A, it feels like there's some real momentum with Harmon at the moment. It's good to hear Terry Price is back on the road. TP was sidelined for a little chunk of the final 2020 push as he recovered from the leg issue that hampered him throughout the season. The long time defensive ends coach headed down to southeast Texas to check in with Port Arthur Memorial DE Jordon Thomas who remains at the top of the A&M wishlist as well as 2022 CB offer Jaylon Guilbeau. Guilbeau has been a monster on the camp circuit early on this offseason. From there, TP is expected to make the long trek up to see the Texarkana Pleasant Grove duo of Marcus Burris and Landon Jackson.I was told A&M defensive coordinator Mike Elko stayed semi local today. I've gotten reports from a few northwest Houston schools where he's made stops - most notably at CyFair to see stud RB LJ Johnson Jr, CyRanch to see Baylor DB commit Romario Noel and TE Ben Postma. He also went by CyFalls and Bridgeland. I continue to hear good things about Bridgeland's 2022 Conner Weigman. He's got great tape and has certainly caught the attention of the A&M staff. Lastly, I've been told Elko will make a trip out to Blue Bell country to close the day by seeing 2022 Brenham ATH Eric Hemphill III. The Cypress/northwest Houston area is technically Elko's territory so don't be alarmed that he's seeing offensive players at these schools. Darrell Dickey is back in his stomping grounds of south Houston today. He's stopped by Shadow Creek to see their loaded roster of D1 prospects. A&M remains interested in the Sharks' 2021 QB Kyron Drones as well as a host of their 2022's. 2021 Shadow Creek LB Terrence Cooks has seen some big time offers come his way in recent months, and he's expected to be in College Station this weekend at the 7 on 7 tournament taking place at Veteran's Park. Dickey also made stops in Ft Bend ISD as well as Pearland to see their talented pair of junior RB's - Darius Hale and Brandon Campbell.Reminder: I do expect some noteworthy kids to swing by campus this weekend that are playing in the aforementioned 7 on 7 tournament.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
