West Coast news and notes
California TE Michael Ezeike announced on Twitter that he plans on making a commitment tomorrow at 4 o'clock (2 pacific). From what I can gather, it looks like it's down to Oregon and USC despite the Aggies making him a priority target at TE. I think he'll pick the Ducks. There is still Camren McDonald at TE out in Cali that the Aggies remain in contact with. The possibilities of landing him have increased, but I still believe there's a ways to go there. I've also heard that Cajon (CA) DE Jeremiah Martin remains very high on the Aggies - so much so that folks close to him think A&M stands a solid chance to land him no matter what happens. I'm always skeptical about landing kids from out there, but I do believe Martin's interest in coming to A&M is genuine.

A couple Wednesday morning recruiting notes
-We (Jason and I) have heard some rumors about A&M commit Leon O'Neal making a trip out west to USC. I'm still working on running that down, but those of you that follow this stuff know that Leon has been looking around just in case. I should hear something on that one way or another here pretty soon.-I've run down some information on Cal Poly TE Camren McDonald. One source told me that the chances of him landing at A&M are increasing, but there's still a ways to go. I believe there are higher priority guys left on the table that will have to fall off before the Ags make a big push for McDonald...names like Terrace Marshall (leaning LSU), Jaylen Waddle (leaning Bama), and Michael Ezeike.

Some Tuesday Morning Recruiting News and Notes
Richland linebacker DaShaun White took his official visit to Texas over the weekend, and after returning home he says nothing has changed regarding his Texas A&M commitment. He did have a good visit and enjoyed his time in Austin, but it did not change his status with the Aggies. In the past he has said he planned to stick with the Aggies unless things go south. I've also been told by one source he would give a new staff a chance if something happens. White has already taken an official visit to Oklahoma, and I look for him to schedule an official visit to Texas A&M in December. On another note, White will have his Army All-American ceremony Friday at Richland High. St. Louis (Mo.) defensive tackle Trevor Trout was in College Station over the weekend, and he announced plans to make his decision next Monday (Nov. 20). Before he does that, he has an official visit scheduled to USC. I talked to a few different sources about this and I was told the West coast programs seem to have the edge and that UCLA looks like the pick. I was also told it does not look like USC. There has not been a lot of Texas A&M buzz until he showed up for his official visit last week. It was just a few weeks ago that he left the Aggies off his list of favorites which included USC, UCLA, Alabama, Miami, and Georgia. We do know the Bulldogs are now out of it, but he has kept people guessing to this point.I'm continuing to dig around on this one, but wanted to relay some of what I was hearing on that front.Another Aggie target made a decision yesterday. Long Beach (Calif.) Poly tight end Camren McDonald decommitted from USC. Even before his visit we had heard there might be a parting of ways between McDonald and the Trojans, so yesterday's news was not completely surprising. He took an official visit to Texas A&M (Oct. 6) and Nebraska (Nov. 3). Sources have told me that both official visits went well, and I was told he has a strong interest in the Aggies. Coach Jeff Banks is leading the Aggies' efforts. McDonald is a 6-5, 215-pound flex-TE prospect. We will keep you posted as we hear more on all of these fronts. And I did just hear some news on Terrace Marshall. I was told by a source LSU and Texas look like the frontrunners there. I would still say the Tigers are the leaders, but in regards to the Aggies, it looks like the questions in College Station have the Aggies trending the other way. He plans to announce his decision and sign on Dec. 22.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
