LIVE TexAgs.com Weekend High School Football Thread
It's that time again, guys. I'll be at Northwest ISD Stadium to see Flower Mound Marcus take on Byron Nelson. Marcus has a few guys of note, all in the 2019 class. LB Marcel Brooks leads the group. He doesn't have the Aggies in his top group but he's a playmaker I've been wanting to see live. OL Justin Osborne has several offers as does RB Justin Dinka who has drawn the eye of the Aggies here recently.Friday i'll be in Argyle to see Argyle and Wichita Falls Hirschi. The name to know in that game is Hirschi 2019 DT Lloyd Murray. He has been offered by the Aggies and plans to be in College Station this weekend.Brauninger will be at the Manvel/Santa Fe match-up to see A&M commits Jalen Preston, Brian Johnson, Deneric Prince and several other Manvel standouts.Hop will be at Klein/Klein Collins to check out 2019 RB and A&M legacy Isaiah Spiller. Ted is atDarrell Tully Stadium to see Strake Jesuit take on Katy. He's going to focus on A&M commit Seth Small and 2018 DT Moro Ojomo, but he'll keep an eye on 2019 RB Deondrick Glass as well as Strake Jesuit 2019 TE Thomas Gordon. We will post updates from our games here, and I know we would love to hear from you guys as you are out in the crowd at games across the state.Have fun and safe travels

TexAgs Spring Tour: Flower Mound Marcus
Today the stop was Flower Mound Marcus to see a trio of 2019 prospects, and they did not disappoint. New Marauder head coach Kevin Atkinson has the guys flying around out there and the first guy I really wanted to see was linebacker Marcel Brooks. He picked up an offer from the Aggies last week and is a guy that has a lot of momentum right now. I mentioned him as a guy to watch a few weeks ago and at 6-3, 200, he looks the part of a top 25 type player in the state and a national prospect. The first thing that jumps out is his explosiveness and it is also quick to jump off the film. His overall athleticism will allow him to be a versatile asset on the defensive side of the ball. He is drawing attention at LB and S but I project him as LB on the college level after seeing him in person for the first time. When it comes to his recruiting it is still young and I did not get a vibe that he was itching to make a decision any time soon. He was impressed by Texas A&M's attention and he is planning to visit College Station. https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/864249156717735936https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/864250530121621506Offensive lineman Justin Osborne is another big time prospect. He already holds offers from Michigan and Oklahoma, and he is another top 25-type prospect. He was a guy we strongly considered in our original 2019 rankings and he is one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the class alongside Tyler Johnson (Oak Ridge) and Kenyon Green (Humble Atascocita). He can move and has some nice bend for a big guy, and he does not have a lot of bad weight on his frame. Running back Justin Dinka was the first 2019 prospect at Marcus to receive an offer when SMU offered. Baylor and Illinois have also joined the fold. At 5-11, 185 he is an every down back, and last fall he rushed for 1,711 yards and 20 TDs on 277 carries. I expect teams to get a heavy dose of Dinka in 2017.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
