Deneric Prince brings speed, all-purpose threat to Aggie backfield
Texas A&M landed a commitment from Deneric Prince on Friday, an under-the-radar running back talent who is ready to take the reins for Manvel this year. Billy Liucci took a look at the pledge and the Aggie staff's plans for Prince.

Wednesday night recruiting snippets
-Brauny spoke to a trusted source tonight who believes that Manvel tailback and recent Clarence McKinney offer Deneric Prince could announce a commitment soon...perhaps as early as by the end of the week. This is a development that would honestly come as no surprise, as Prince coveted an A&M offer and the Aggie staff was very impressed with the 6-0, 200-pounder's showing at their Sunday camp (Prince clocked a sub-4.5). Many within the Manvel program believe he's every bit as good a prospect as former Maverick and current Ole Miss runner DeVaughn Pennamon. Prince and San Antonio Brennan's Jahmyl Jeter were both offered by McKinney on the same day after Jeter also stood out at the UTSA camp in San Antonio attended by multiple Aggie assistants. Essentially, this is a first-come, first-served situation not all that dissimilar to what we saw a couple of cycles ago with Pennamon, Devwah Whaley and Trayveon Williams all vying for a single spot at the time. It sounds like Prince will be the one who jumps on the chance to be an Aggie first.-Sticking with Manvel for a moment, don't expect linebacker Brian Johnson to drag his recruitment out too much longer. The 4.3 speedster was thrilled with last week's Aggie offer and might not be more than a week or so behind his teammate Deneric Prince when it comes to joining the current A&M class.-Also, both Brauny and I continue to hear positive reports on Yoakum wide receiver Josh Moore and the Aggies. Florida State and Nebraska are still legitimate players here (particularly FSU) but all of the intel we continue to gather still points towards the Maroon & White. June 18 is still the day and Moore's current plan includes him making a return visit to College Station for the YESSIR! BBQ on that date. Read into that what you will (and the scheduled visit does speak volumes) and, in addition, Ryan and I both have sources outside of Aggieland who feel strongly that Moore will be joining the #gigemgang18 movement on the 18th. Not guaranteed, as Jimbo Fisher and Mike Riley will continue to push, but the Ags are on the right side of the momentum here.-At defensive end, Oak Ridge four-star Joseph Ossai is still the prize and one of the Ags' longest-standing priority targets. However, there's been some real movement of late at the position, where a pair of targets have recently emerged as definite 'takes' for Terry Price. The Ags recently added Katy Taylor standout Max Wright to the 2018 commitment list and would love to eventually sign three high school blue-chips at perhaps their most-pressing area of need. A&M extended an offer to former Washington State commit Tyree Wilson of West Rusk HS yesterday after the 6-6, 225-pounder turned in an impressive camp showing at the Ags' camp. From what we're hearing, both Wilson and Cajon, California four-star Jeremiah Martin (he's still in the process of planning a trip to Aggieland sometime later this month and has every intention of making the visit) have a spot in the A&M class for as long as Price and Co. are in the market at the position, meaning either/or could eventually join Wright and Ossai at the position in the Ags Class of '18. -Nick Saban has officially thrown his hat in the ring when it comes to a pair of longtime A&M targets - Arlington Lamar DL Bobby Brown and Boling ATH Vernon Jackson. Brown, in particular, is a camp standout who Saban and the Crimson Tide coaching staff are particularly enamored with at this time. While this is certainly a concern for the Maroon & White, area recruiter Terry Price has forged a particularly strong bond with not only Brown himself but also those in his inner circle, which should be enough for the Aggies to give Bama a real run in a particularly important recruitment.

Tuesday recruiting quick hitters
--We talked about the offers out to 2018 RB Deneric Prince and 2020 North Shore back Zach Evans, but the Aggies have also moved on a name we've been mentioning for awhile this morning as they offered San Antonio Brennan's Jahmyl Jeter.https://twitter.com/Teamjeter28/status/872114121369694208Jeter is currently committed to SMU. With A&M offering both Prince and Jeter on the same day, it may be a first come, first serve type of deal. --Speaking of Prince, a source very close to the Manvel program told me this morning that the Aggies have an outstanding shot at landing him. There is also talk down there that the coaching staff thinks as highly of him as a prospect as recent Manvel RB D'Vaughn Pennamon who is now at Ole Miss. Prince ran sub 4.5 at A&M camp this past weekend. --The talks between Houston Heights CB Jalen Green and the A&M staff, particularly Ron Cooper, were positive according to a Houston area source. Green is looking for stability, and I was told point blank that A&M will be very much in the mix if Kevin Sumlin is the head coach. Green is fond of Sumlin but won't consider the Aggies if there's a different head man. I was told Jalen wants to see how the season plays out before he makes any big decision.--CyFalls CB Starrland Baldwin left A&M this weekend without an offer. The Oklahoma commit was invited to the BBQ by the Aggie staff, but it sounds like he won't attend if an offer isn't extended before then. I still believe A&M would be the landing spot if they move soon. --Still hearing positive news for the Ags on the Joseph Ossai and Joshua Moore fronts. Those are two of the main targets that have been getting worked hard by the current commits, particularly O'Neal and Wright. --Keep an eye on OLB Brian Johnson. I got info floated to me that he could be on decision watch.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
