I had the chance to stop through the City of Champions yesterday and see the Duncanville Panthers get in an offseason workout. I did not get to see big defensive end and key Texas A&M target Omari Abor because he was with the basketball team which won a big game last night to advance to the state championships. Before we get started though, the Aggies do seem to be very much in the mix for Abor. He recently took a virtual visit to Texas A&M and coach Terry Price is making sure he knows just how valued he is by the Aggies. I'm working to get in touch with him for a quick update, but Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Texas are among the others very much involved right now. I could see him playing out the process but it also would not surprise me to see him make a preseason decision if he is able to take a few trips.Another big Texas A&M target is offensive lineman Jaylen Early. I posted an update on him earlier and he is keeping in very close communication with offensive line coach Josh Henson. He mentioned trimming his list to around 5 in the next few months and right now I like the Aggies chances to make that list. If the dead period ends this summer, look for him to get out and take some visits, and as he said, he wants to see College Station. The Aggies have also offered offensive lineman Cameron Williams, but it does not look like the Aggies are very involved here. His current top schools are Oklahoma, Ohio State, Oregon, and Tennessee because their coaches and their offenses. He hopes to narrow things down and make a decision this summer. Those three are far from the only prospects to watch. To state it plainly, Duncanville is loaded. They have athletes all over the field and big men in the trenches. If I had to make a prediction on the next Duncanville prospect to receive an offer from the Aggies. I would look no further than 2023 CB Deldrick Madison. The 6-foot, 180-pound cornerback has been piling up the offers lately. He is a quick twitch prospect with excellent change of direction. He definitely passes the eyeball test too. He currently holds offers from the likes of Oklahoma, Baylor, Michigan, Colorado, Oklahoma State, and USC. In 2022 there are a few sleepers I could see emerging on bigger radars down the road, including Texas A&M's depending on needs.S Pierre Goree is a guy I highlighted a few weeks ago, but to refresh your memories he is a 6-1, 210-pound S who ran a 10.58 100m. He has some serious speed, and he saw things really start to click into place as he learned the position last fall. In the last few weeks he has added offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, UNLV, Colorado, and San Diego State, and he has also begun to receive interest from Oklahoma.DT Quincy Wright is right there at the top of my list. He checks in at 6-4, 295 and he has been a mainstay on the Panthers defensive front since his sophomore year. It is crazy to think this guy does not have one offer from the state of Texas. At the very least SMU, Baylor, Texas Tech should be all over him. He has an SEC build and I could see him blowing up on the camp scene. I got to see him run the circle yesterday and he can move. He is an athlete and he is well coached. His offer list includes Arkansas, Minnesota, Kansas, Oregon State, Marshall, and Colorado State with the last three arriving in February.WR/TE Jerrale Powers is another I could see blowing up. He is 6-4, 220 and he definitely looks the part. He has the athleticism college coaches love and the frame to continue to add weight. I could easily see him being a Landen King type of prospect. I love his potential as a flex-TE type and could see his stock take off at the position. UConn is his most recent offer. Oregon State offered in February. In 2023 I have my eye on a few guys. ATH Lontrell Turner is a difference maker with the ball in his hands and he has the best nickname in the state "Boo Bam". He checks in at 6-foot, 175 and he is an all-around offensive playmaker. He can line up in the backfield at RB or wildcat QB or he could split out to receiver. He is a dangerous threat after the catch where his speed, quickness, and instincts take over. He currently holds offers from Baylor, Georgia Tech, and SMU. Another couple of 2023s I could see emerging are OL Jerry Scales and LB Kaleb Kenney. Scales is a little undersized. He is listed at 6-3, but I'd put him closer to 6-2 and he is 245 right now. He started at center for Duncanville as a sophomore after only playing the position for a year, and his tape is some of the most fun you will see. He fires off the ball and he is mauling people. He has the frame to build on and if he adds another inch or two he has a chance to be a great center prospect. Kenney is a standout on both sides of the ball but at 6-1, 200, he already has the look of a LB. Duncanville is looking for a few to jump into the mix after the departure of seniors Kendrick Blackshire and JD Thursby and Kenney is definitely a guy to watch. Then there is the 2024 class, and it packs a big punch. Defensive end Colin Simmons is 6-2, 215 and already has the nickname Baby Abor. At 6-4, 290 he made a name for himself on the scout team during last fall's playoffs. I listed him as Michael yesterday when I tweeted his picture and info, but he goes by Alex. His father, Michael January, played LB at Texas.
