Unoffered names to keep an eye on
As we get ready to undertake a full slate of Texas HS football this week, I thought it'd be a good refresher to list all the names we are monitoring in terms of A&M involvement as the season unfolds. Now, we are not saying all these kids are in-line for offers. Rather, these are kids that with a few weeks of strong tape could put themselves on the Aggie radar. I'll predominantly take care of the greater Houston area guys and leave Dallas up to Howell. Jason, if I miss anyone, feel free to add them. 2021RBAlton McCaskill - Conroe Oak RidgeOLRemington Strickland - Ft Bend ChristianCole Carson - Bogota Rivercrest (Arkansas)Kamron Scott - Converse Judson (UTSA)Canon Boone - Dickinson (Virginia Tech)Gabe Blair - Denton GuyerEzra Oyetade - Garland Lakeview Centennial (Arizona State)Jack Leyrer - Dallas Highland Park (Stanford)Jack Tucker - Argyle (Texas Tech)Tate Williams - Wall (Baylor)TEMason Tharp - Klein (Texas Tech)WRJohn Paul Richardson - Ft Bend Ridge Point (Oklahoma State)Nehemiah Noel - Galveston BallJerand Bradley - DeSoto (Texas Tech)DTByron Murphy II - DeSoto (Baylor)DEJe'lin Samuels - Pasadena Sam RayburnLandyn Watson - Hutto (TCU)LBKeith Cooper - Dickinson SCaleb Ellis - Frisco Independence (Stanford)2022QBCade Klubnik - Austin WestlakeConner Weigman - BridgelandNick Evers - Flower MoundRBJamarion Miller - Tyler LegacyHymond Drinkard - George RanchDamien Brown - LeonardOLCory Hendrix - College StationJihad Lateef - Lubbock EstacadoEthan Sanders - San Antonio ChristianNeto Umeozulu - AllenSheridan Wilson - ArgyleCaden Kitler - Plano John Paul IIErik Gray - AmarilloTETrent McGaughey - Shadow CreekHouston Thomas - College StationCody Mladenka - The Woodlands College ParkOmari Murdock - AllenWRRandy Masters - Shadow CreekJeremy Patton - TenahaKeith Wheeler II - AtascocitaAnthony Black - CoppellDTTre Emory - Mt PleasantKris Ross - North ShoreDETai Leonard - CyFallsDeMone Green - Houston HeightsCurlee Thomas - Fort Worth Nolan CatholicLBTy Kana - KatyJustin Medlock - ManvelOwen Pewee - CyParkNic Caraway - BryanBralon Jones - SpringJordan Crook - DuncanvilleTrevell Johnson - Arlington MartinTyrell Johnson - Arlington MartinCB Eric Hemphill III - BrenhamChandler Rivers - Beaumont UnitedDorian Friend - SpringJalon Peoples - Cedar HillSJacobe Chester - Ft Bend MarshallJaidan Scott - Shadow CreekDylan Dixson - PearlandSherrod Covil Jr. - North ShoreCollin Wright - ManvelKCarter Brown - Pearland Dawson

A return to prominence: Examining the 2022 in-state linebacker class
The talent around Texas high school football is apparently and always has been. However, in recent years, the skill at linebacker has taken a step back, but with a deep crop of talent in the class of 2022, that is about to change.

Some Wednesday recruiting notes
- Some out of state names at safety that I've heard are really reciprocating interest with the Aggies early on are Winter Park (FL) native Dakota Mitchell, 6-4, 185 pound Beggs (OK) standout Kendal Daniels, and Miami (FL) Northwestern's Kamren Kinchens. If you'll remember, Kinchens told me recently that he is making plans to come to College Station this spring or summer. However, of the three mentioned, my gut tells me he's the tallest hill to climb currently. We've seen this staff do it before, but they'll have ground to make up with Kamren as LSU, Miami, and Ohio State are widely considered the leaders. - There's a new in-state name at linebacker that's starting to create some buzz in 2021. I was first told about Dylan Hazen from The Woodlands College Park by Josh Bankhead and his family. While he's got some shorter features in terms of wing span and reach, he does stand over 6 foot and tips the scale at around 220 pounds. He's also a twitchy kid with good explosive energy in his lower body - so much so that he's recently run consecutive sub 4.4 hand timed 40's. That feat alone resulted in a phone call to Looch from a source at College Park. A&M LB coach Tyler Santucci went by the school last month and got to put his eyes on Dylan. From talking to folks in the area, it sounds like the Aggies will be by again later this spring to see him in actual football workouts. From there, it wouldn't surprise me to see him camp in College Station this summer. I'd put him in the same group as Jacorey Hyder from Woodville in terms of in-state guys that A&M will monitor this cycle. Tulsa and Rice have offered in the last couple of weeks, but he's also begun to hear from Texas, as well. Here's his junior tape.https://www.hudl.com/video/3/9851843/5da8ed093453690ea0f5c37a- Jason and I have already begun talking about the 'real' return of the linebacker to the state of Texas is likely to come in the class of 2022, and I randomly stumbled upon a new one this morning. Bralon Jones is a 6-1, 205 pound LB prospect from Spring who's Hudl tape I accidentally clicked on while perusing Twitter this morning. I was surprised at what I had come across though. Check it out. I think it's worth a look. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/12397841/5dddd2f19680cc16308f4dc1

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
