A few recruiting notes
So I have a couple of 2020 LB nuggets for you. St. Louis (MO) Lutheran North LB Antonio Doyle Jr. says he hears from coach Jimbo Fisher more than any other head coach and he is making plans to get down to College Station in May or June. He has his eyes set on playing in the SEC, and he loves what he has heard about the Aggie Network and the Aggie ring. At 6-4, 220 he has been one of the hottest LBs in the nation, and yesterday, he picked up an offer from Alabama.Norcross (GA) Greater Atlanta Christian LB Choe Bryant-Strother made some big waves over the weekend with the highest SPARQ score of the Opening Regional in Atlanta. His 37-inch vertical and 4.1 shuttle at 6-3, 230 are eye popping. He hears regularly from coach Peveto and said, "Coach Peveto is my man." He has upcoming visits to Ole Miss, UCLA, Nebraska, and Virginia, and he is also making plans to visit Texas A&M this summer. Now for a couple of quick DL notes. Houma (LA) Terrebonne 2021 DT Maason Smith will visit Texas this weekend and he will return to the Lone Star state next weekend to visit Texas A&M. Lafayette (LA) Lafayette Christian 2022 DT Fitzgerald West also has his eyes on the Aggies. He is a prospect on the rise and has turned quite a few heads on the camp circuit the last few months. He picked up a Colorado offer a couple of weeks ago and he would like to earn a Texas A&M offer. He plans to camp in College Station this summer.

New Orleans Under Armour Thread
I am headed out to the Under Armour Camp in New Orleans this morning. Texas A&M commitment Major Burns and major target Joel Williams will both be in attendance. As I mentioned yesterday, Houma (LA) Terrebonne 2021 DT Maason Smith will also be putting in work. He already holds an offer from the Aggies and he was the defensive line MVP of last week's Opening Regional in New Orleans.Dallas will be represented by Skyline 2021 standout WR Quaydarius Davis, and I hear Garland Lakeview Centennial 2021 RB Camar Wheaton will be watching. Oh and Mansfield Lake Ridge WR Tameron "Turbo" Derrough is expected. He is short but I look for him to light up this camp. Houma (LA) Terrebonne's Ja'Khi Douglas will also keep defenders on their toes.Other prospect of interest to Texas A&M fans (these guys all hold A&M offers)RB Ashaad Clayton, New Orleans (LA) Warren EastonWR Reginald Johnson, Baton Rouge (LA) Southern LabWR Theodore Knox, Baton Rouge (LA) Southern Lab - 2021DT Kenean Caldwell, Oak Grove (LA)LB Bryson Eason, Memphis (TN) WhitehavenS Kaine Williams, Marerro (LA) John Ehret - 2021LSU has a junior day, but commitments Kris Draine of Spanish Fort (AL), Kayshon Boutte, and CamRon Jackson are expected to be in attendance. A few others I am excited to watchQB Walker Howard, Lafayette St. Thomas More - 2022 - son of former LSU QB Jamie Howard, and a prospect to watchQB Draylen Ellis, Memphis (TN) Kirby - considered by some to be the top QB in TennesseeWR Isaiah Brevard, Southaven (MS) - 2021 - big, young receivverOL Brady Ward, Mobile (AL) St. Pauls - big OL, LSU legacy, holds some big offersDT Josaih Hayes, Horn Lake (MS) - he's one of the top prospects in Mississippi and was very impressive when I saw him this fallDT Fitzgerald West, Lafayette (LA) Lafayette Christian Academy - 2022 - had a big camp last week and picked up his first offer afterward from Colorado.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
