Notes from Adidas Satellite Camp in Florida
Yesterday was Atlanta, today was Miami for the Adidas Satellite Camps. Here are some news notes and thoughts -The story of the morning was Lake Wales (FL) 2020 DE Gervon Dexter. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound defender's length and build jumped out before the camp even started. He then showed he could play some ball too. He made easy work of one-on-one drills and he was the fastest lineman at the camp. After the camp he received offers from Nebraska and NC State. This guy has been flying under the radar since he did not play last year due to ineligibility issues. I have heard his academics are on track though and he has started to see things pick up. Alabama and Michigan are taking a long look at him after they saw him last week. He also holds offers from Kansas, Syracuse, FAU, Charlotte, Ohio, and Western Michigan. Once this guy puts some tape together this fall he is going to see his stock rise considerably. Mark it down, kid has the potential to be a national recruit and I could see him being a name to watch for A&M down the line. https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/1004757508257349635https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/1004757861757542401-Dexter looked the part but Sebastian (FL) Sebastian River 2020 DT Tim Smith gets the nod for the first off the bus award. He did not compete today, but his big barrel chest and his flat belly at 6-3, 340 pounds was more than enough to draw attention. He already holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and is considered among the best in his class. Even without him working out it was easy to see why he is so highly considered. There has not been a lot of communication between Smith and A&M but he is a guy the Aggies know about. -Miami (FL) Southwest Miami 2021 DT Savion Collins (6-2, 265) also caught some attention. He holds offers from Miami and N.C. State. He had a solid day against older competition. He is young so he was overpowered a few times, but he has a powerful lower body and a lot of athleticism. He is starting to generate some momentum, and if he continues to grow I could see the spotlight getting pretty bright for him. -Tampa (FL) Jefferson 2019 OL Shamar Hobdy-Lee (6-4, 280) was my favorite O-lineman of the day. He has some nice length. His lower half is a little on the smaller side, but he showed some nice bend and flexibility. Kentucky is among his top offers right now. No workout, no probem a couple of guys who did not workout but were Port St. Lucie (FL) West Centennial 2020 LB Jamari Stewart was a standout on the sidelines. It came as no surprise the 6-4, 215-pound defender already holds offers from Louisville, Indiana, Southern Miss, FAU, and Iowa State. Sebastian (FL) Sebastian River 2020 S Corbin Gibson also looked the part at 6-3, 200 and he also already holds offers from Kansas, Purdue, FAU, and Maryland. Fort Lauderdale (FL) Fort Lauderdale 2019 OL Kaleb Boateng (6-4, 290) was another who did not workout today, but he quickly caught eye. He sat out today with a slight injury but already holds offers from the likes of NC State, Indiana, Maryland, Purdue, Kansas, North Carolina, and several others. *********A few things I heard about Jimbo Fisher while in Florida. These things will not come as a surprise based on what we have seen so far. -he's a heck of a coach and will get things headed in the right direction-he's one of the best closers there is on the recruiting trail-FSU took him for granted.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
