New Orleans Under Armour Thread
I am headed out to the Under Armour Camp in New Orleans this morning. Texas A&M commitment Major Burns and major target Joel Williams will both be in attendance. As I mentioned yesterday, Houma (LA) Terrebonne 2021 DT Maason Smith will also be putting in work. He already holds an offer from the Aggies and he was the defensive line MVP of last week's Opening Regional in New Orleans.Dallas will be represented by Skyline 2021 standout WR Quaydarius Davis, and I hear Garland Lakeview Centennial 2021 RB Camar Wheaton will be watching. Oh and Mansfield Lake Ridge WR Tameron "Turbo" Derrough is expected. He is short but I look for him to light up this camp. Houma (LA) Terrebonne's Ja'Khi Douglas will also keep defenders on their toes.Other prospect of interest to Texas A&M fans (these guys all hold A&M offers)RB Ashaad Clayton, New Orleans (LA) Warren EastonWR Reginald Johnson, Baton Rouge (LA) Southern LabWR Theodore Knox, Baton Rouge (LA) Southern Lab - 2021DT Kenean Caldwell, Oak Grove (LA)LB Bryson Eason, Memphis (TN) WhitehavenS Kaine Williams, Marerro (LA) John Ehret - 2021LSU has a junior day, but commitments Kris Draine of Spanish Fort (AL), Kayshon Boutte, and CamRon Jackson are expected to be in attendance. A few others I am excited to watchQB Walker Howard, Lafayette St. Thomas More - 2022 - son of former LSU QB Jamie Howard, and a prospect to watchQB Draylen Ellis, Memphis (TN) Kirby - considered by some to be the top QB in TennesseeWR Isaiah Brevard, Southaven (MS) - 2021 - big, young receivverOL Brady Ward, Mobile (AL) St. Pauls - big OL, LSU legacy, holds some big offersDT Josaih Hayes, Horn Lake (MS) - he's one of the top prospects in Mississippi and was very impressive when I saw him this fallDT Fitzgerald West, Lafayette (LA) Lafayette Christian Academy - 2022 - had a big camp last week and picked up his first offer afterward from Colorado.

I'm in New Orleans and I have a few recruiting notes
I jumped off the plane and headed straight for Warren Easton, home to standout RB Ashaad Clayton and OL Sedrick Van Pran, who both hold offers from Texas A&M.First off, Coach Peveto has the Aggies in a great spot with both of these guys. Neither plans to make a decision anytime soon, but Clayton listed A&M in his top 3 with LSU and Kansas (KU asst Tony Hull used to be the HC at WE) and Van Pran is trying to schedule a visit.Van Pran is not naming favorites but he does have a few visit plans. He will be at LSU this weekend and he has a trip to Georgia March 30. He will take an official visit to Oklahoma April 13. He did say he grew up a fan of Von Miller and Johnny ManzielBoth were very impressed with A&M's win over LSU this year. Clayton said it showed him the dog, the fight in the Aggie program and that he was still shocked by the outcome. Van Pran said he sees the Aggies taking a big turn under Jimbo Fisher. These two are close and have even talked about playing together on the college level. I'm not saying this is a package deal but if they are very close friends. We'll have more on both later and i'll also have a few more stops while i'm In Louisiana.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
