More Tuesday recruiting notes
-Members of the A&M staff went by to see Alvin CB and Oregon commit Marques Caldwell today. The heat has been turned up from a lot of schools recently for the 6-2, 190 pounder. I was told he resembled current A&M corner Debione Renfro. I was told Alabama, LSU, Florida, Texas, and Texas Tech have all been by Alvin recently to see him. -A&M coaches will also be by Fort Bend ISD to see CB Erick Young and 2020 OL Akinola Ogunbiyi.-At quarterback, Darrell Dickey will go see San Angelo QB Maverick McIvor during his spring game later this week. There's also a new name emerging out in Georgia. I've been told the Aggies will be out to see Lanier (GA) gunslinger Zach Calzada this week. He blew up at a Rivals camp recently and has started getting attention nationally. -Additionally at quarterback, A&M offered North Panola (MS) QB KJ Jefferson, and I'm told he's making plans to be on campus this summer.-A&M continues to evaluate LSU LB commit Zach Edwards out of Starkville (MS). If I had to guess today, I would say the kid doesn't sign with the Tigers. I'm not saying it's going to be A&M, but I just don't believe it'll be LSU.

Friday recruiting quick hitters
-A&M remains the team to beat per sources near Katy Seven Lakes DE David Ugwoegbu. His midweek visit only further solidified that.-Connecticut OL Jack Stewart was given the first class treatment by the A&M staff. This is a kid that had been one of the more responsive guys in terms of out of state linemen. He toured the academic stuff and dorms. It sounds like the coaches have prioritized about 3-4 out of state offensive linemen currently...Stewart, Hunter Rayburn from Florida (who was pretty impressive physically from what I hear), and Riley Simonds from Georgia. -I mentioned LSU LB commit Zach Edwards a few weeks back as a potential spring game visitor. I was told just a minute ago that the Aggies will likely get him in this weekend or next. -Add 2020 OL's Akinola Ogunbiyi and Kendal Septs as names I'm watching this weekend in terms of making a move. A south Houston source tells me a lot of Maroon momentum remains with those two.-Interesting local name to watch: College Station S Brandon Joseph has been added to the visitor list. This is a kid that I know has been evaluated by the staff recently, and he's picked up some nice offers plus big other interest in the region.-Odds are there will be more visitor names added throughout the day. -2021 Katy Taylor OL Bryce Foster will make his second trip up in as many weeks. He just set a personal record in the shot put that landed him as the top freshman thrower in the country. His older brother is Braden Meador, a former offensive lineman here. A whole bunch of folks thought he would commit once he was offered by the Aggies, but, being such a young kid, I think he was encouraged to take a little more time. Still, this one feels like it could go at any time.

Late Tuesday night recruiting update
-I was told tonight that Braedon Mowry had a very productive, extensive conversation with Terry Price today. -A source out West tells me that California QB Ryan Hilinski may be close to shutting things down, and I hear the Aggies cross division rival South Carolina is the leader. -A Louisiana contact told me tonight that Southern Lab LB Christian Harris and ATH Makiya Tongue have spoken highly of the Aggies recently. Of the two, my guy felt like Harris was the more likely of the pair to end up out of state. I've been told Tongue wants to play wide receiver while many view him as a defensive player. -I think we have sort of glossed over how highly the staff thinks of Nnamdi Adim-Madumere. He's been getting the hard sell from Jimbo Fisher and Tim Brewster. Should the Aggies land him, we continue to hear it'd go a long way with Jeffery Carter in Aledo. -Look for Starkville (MS) LB and LSU commit Zach Edwards to make a visit to A&M soon. -Up front, I feel comfortable adding highly touted Connecticut OL Jack Stewart to next week's visitor list. I said last week that he's been really receptive to Jim Turner and Lee Grimes, and it sounds like he's made plans to be in College Station for the spring game. -I mentioned Tyrone Brown as an emerging linebacker prospect last month, and I've heard he's going to get a strong look this spring. -A new DB offer went out earlier tonight to Edna Karr (LA) standout Devin Bush. He currently holds offers from just about every power program in the country, and folks in the Bayou believe he'll stay home and play for the Tigers.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
