Avery Helm goes to the same school as Malik Hornsby and Devon Achane, both of whom hold A&M offers.

He's one to watch going forward.

Already has SEC offers from Bama and LSU. Seems we're behind in this one.

We have already offered 3 star recruits. We will NEVER beat Bama or our arch rival LSU with a bunch of 3 star recruits.
Three star recruits can be sought after later. We DEFINITELY need to go after the top echelon first.

While I agree with you in general, this kid's offer list does not reflect a 3 star ranking.

Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Florida

Bama took 1 3 star this year and he's a kicker.

They don't take 3 star players.

Baylor Cupp was a 3 star when offered. Our guys have an eye for talent.

Jimbo and co have sent out dozens of out of state offers for top echelon players in the last couple weeks.

This far out from signing day, 2020, there are a lot of players that are very good that are underrated as three stars. The reasons for that could be any number of things: they are late bloomers, they have limited exposure to scouts due to the quality of their high school program, they were injured for part of their careers up until this point, etc.

A lot of the current three stars will ascend to higher rankings by the time they sign with the program they pick. This is because they may experience a major growth spurt, they may train super hard over the summer and then show out their senior years as if the "light switched on" for them. It all depends.

I would encourage you to look at the offer list of the kids before drawing judgement this early in the recruiting cycle.

Helm's offers are from: Alabama, Florida, auburn, Georgia, LSU, Michigan state, ole miss, etc. He'll likely get offers from all the big Texas schools as well as Oklahoma before it's all said and done

Folks like Avery Helm and Alfred Collins may be three stars now. But, they'll likely go up. Collins will likely be a top DL recruit by the end of the 2020 cycle. But, his school isn't know for football so his exposure has been severely limited. If he starts going to camps he'll see his star ranking go way up.

You're being silly if you take rankings seriously a year out from signing day. They are so inaccurate it's ridiculous. Jimbo doesn't recruit off lists and likes a lot of 3 stars better than some of the 4s. Both in this class already and last years class where we literally turned away four stars in favor of some 3s.

Those offers are not commitable. Completely different offering out of state versus in state. If you offer in state you better be prepared to take his commitment right away.. I don't think helm is a take for us in this class, at least right now, and quite frankly is a bit overrated
