Great Start!

In my mind what Fisher needs to do to be successful in recruiting here is get consistently land classes with solid, deep Defensive Front 7 talent. I think this is the biggest challenge when recruiting in our state today.

Despite brining a lot of talent to College Station, I think this is where Sumlin failed at least in recruiting. We had some bright spots along the defensive front 7 (really bright with Garrett), but we were never close to as solid across the board with depth when you compare us to LSU, Auburn, and of course Alabama in our division.

Even looking at Herman's top 5 class at t.u. for 2018, it's still not SEC caliber on the defensive front 7.

I agree 100%. Jimbos talked about building an "SEC" team. I'm thinking we're gonna see an emphasis on getting top defensive front personnel.

Having coached at Auburn and LSU, Fisher knows this.

I too am excited about White.

However, Orebo is a LB, no?

I only ask due to people already saying he'll become a DE. Virginia Tech's Edmund was a freak at LB playing at 6'5" 230. I think Orebo could be a similar freak playing at 6'6" 240.

I actually think Orebo has a higher ceiling than White, and I think White really should be a 4 star.

I'm excited by both kids though.

Orebo hasn't played football for long, so his route will be to redshirt and then play. His ceiling is way high because of that.

As far as what he'll play in college.. he could play LB but he could as easily end up growing into DE.

This kid White though is for sure a LB and likely an ILB!

Our ranking today is based on numbers. We will drop as other teams start adding numbers. If the ranking is important we will need to start picking up some 4 and 5 star recruits. Perhaps the star ratings are not that important. I try not to pay much attention to recruiting this far from signing date.

We likely won't finish 2 or 3, but I don't think we are going to drop as much as some others think. We are in on a lot of high targets and there has been a lot of talk over some of our guys moving up in the rankings soon. I expect us to finish anywhere from 4-8. An outside chance at 3 if we have a big move in our current commits rankings. It all depends on who we close on and how many of our guys get bumps in the rankings. I expect Cupp to go from a low 4 star to a high 4 star. I expect at least 1-2 of our current 3 stars to get bumped up to 4 stars. Kenyon Jackson, Zach Calzada, Adrian Medley, Andre White, and Adarious Jones all have a chance to earn a 4th star at some point.

If we evaluated as well as I think we have, a lot of our commits will have good senior years and have the chance to move up.
