Have a family member on a 30 day antibiotic (long story,m) and they're scheduled for vaccine tomorrow. They are trying to get their doc on the phone, but is this going to reduce effectiveness of vaccine?

Shouldn't have any significant impact. Some antibiotics have a slight anti-inflammatory effect, which could hypothetically function similar to taking ibuprofen prior to a vaccine, which has been shown to slightly decrease antibody titers following vaccination. But it shouldn't reduce it enough to have an clinically significant effect. And, even if it does, they should be off the antibiotic by the second dose right? That should fix anything that happened with the first.

Have them get the shot.
