So my wife had a headache this morning and a bit of a sore throat. Took a Quidel Sophia rapid test at a drive up testing spot that came back positive. I went and took the same test and it was negative. Then she went to an urgent care facility for an Abbot rapid test and it was negative. Any thoughts on the sensitivity of these tests?

We are using Sophia rapid antigen test at our facility. I believe the sensitivity is around 97% but I can't remember the exact number. Manufacturer claims results are on part with PCR testing in terms of accuracy.

Not sure about the Abbott test.

This assumes the laboratory tech is preparing and running the tests correctly.

I believe the Abbott test is one of the good ones. I am not sure of accuracy in percentage, but many doctors' offices use that one, including my own large one with multiple locations in a large city. I guess it's worth it to take a third one?

Assume positive. Get a tie breaker test.
