If you want to keep it then make it the number 10. 12 is for football, not baseball and everyone who has worn besides Claunch has been injured or had their worst year.

This is the only answer.

I am fairly confident that the baseball program has far more consequential issues to deal with at this moment of its existence than whether or not someone wears jersey number 12..or 10...or 11.

Clearly OP doesn't truly understand the meaning behind #12.

It's wasn't even a tradition in baseball up until 4 years ago. It's not a thing in any other sport except football and now baseball. It's a cool concept but not some 100 year thing (for the baseball team). If the team doesn't want to keep doing it, why should you have a say? No need to insult OP just because you disagree with them.

No, we must force every other sport's century old traditions onto baseball. Let's get the yell leaders to Olsen asap.

No kidding. And if I'm being honest the parameters never really made sense to me. Awarding it to your senior leader is great, but that has nothing to do with the original tradition of the #12. Basically using the built in marketing of #12 at A&M to name a glorified captain.

Also no more dance team and no more spirit at baseball.
