I think they got it right. Second baseman needs to be moving and turning to make the play, not staying on the bag.

I bet if you go back and look at that runner's other slides, that one didn't match the others. He slid late, and his lead foot didn't even aim for the bag. Even live it looked like he was trying to go for interference, but intent is impossible to prove
