The fact that the team beat all the high level teams and got swept by some of the lowest tier teams points directly to poor culture and coaching.
That take doesn't hold up. This team made it to the SEC Tournament and took down some of the top programs in the country, that's not something a team with "poor culture and coaching" does. People forget coach E hasn't even had the chance to fully recruit his own players yet. A few stayed, but after all the injuries and everything that happened post-CWS last year, he did the best he could with what he had and still kept them competitive.
Yeah, they got swept by a couple lower-tier teams, but that's baseball. Teams play down to their competition all the time, even elite programs lose games they shouldn't. The key is how you respond, and this group kept showing up and fighting.
They fought through the toughest conference in the country with a young roster, injuries, and a huge part of their fan base giving up on them at the start of the season. And more importantly, they fought for their coach. That says more about the culture than anything else.
By poor culture, I mean making the boys realize that every game matters, not just the marquee ones. Schloss was an A hole but the boys knew that they better knot half ass it during any game. If a team only wins the games against weaker competition, that means there is a talent or injury issue. If a team only gets beat by the crap teams, then it's obviously not injuries or talent, it's leadership from the coaches or players themselves.
Believe me, I love these players and Aggie baseball. But looking at the Missouri SEC schedule is sickening, and is in no way acceptable for Aggie baseball. Those three game results are not the result of lack of talent, injuries, or a young roster.
I hear you, and I love Aggie baseball too, but I think you're overlooking some critical context. The teams you think are easy wins often end up being the most stressful. That's just baseball. Upsets happen, and sometimes players play down to the competition, not because of poor leadership, but because they're human.
To say those Missouri losses aren't tied to injuries or roster issues isn't accurate. This team was banged up all year, key players like Gavin Grahovac, Caden Sorrell, Josh Stewart, and Hayden Schott either missed significant time or played through serious injuries. Shane Sdao, who was expected to be a significant contributor, missed the entire 2025 season after undergoing elbow surgery. Farr wasn't ready, BA was .188, an experienced player batting at the Mandela line would have proved better results for the team. You can't discount how much that impacts consistency and depth to get the wins you need.
At least that is my opinion.
