With Ole Miss advancing to the SECT championship game they have almost certainly locked up a host spot.

Honestly incredible job by Bianco this season. They have been pretty awful since they won it all in 2022, and as everyone knows they weren't great that year either until they went on an all time heater on the way to a title.

Not to mention their two best players from last season our now on Tennessee and both had All American level seasons. I can't imagine how good Ole Miss would've been had Doyle and Fischer stayed.

Vandy was projected as the #2 seed this morning so it'll probably be them or Texas.

Looking at D1's projections though the draw for #1 looks a lot harder than #2. GT as host with Florida as the 2 seed vs Southern Miss and Bama.

Texas finished 3 games ahead of Vandy while winning the SEC and gave the tournament its due by starting a JUCO walk-on with a handful of innings to his name rather than risk injury to a weekend starter.

I could see Arkansas being No. 1 if they would have won the tourney, but I don't think Vandy beating Ole Miss does the trick. I'd probably pick Vandy though if they were playing Texas, so it wouldn't be outlandish to have them No. I.

Edit - D1 Baseball has Vandy as the 1 seed.

In addition to your points. Vandy has a better SOS, and was playing better late in the season.

They keep arguing for number 1. I don't think their numbers put them there, though.
