It's ridiculous to have any one conference this dominant in a sport, but the 16 team SEC will likely land 13 tournament bids. A 12 team conference tournament this year would have meant the end of Kentucky's season.

If we're stuck at letting all 16 teams into the conference tournament every year, I'm starting to think that the Southland's method of concurrent games at two locations is the way to go.

Crazy idea -- you could follow the rumored path in football and just take the bottom 12 teams. Give the top 4 teams the week off and let everyone else hash it out.

I hate Globe Life so much. By far the worst game watching experience I have had at a baseball game.

I'm not a fan of artificial grass in general (coming from someone who's experienced playing on it), but I think Globe Life's turf is better than most turf fields. The overall experience isn't very good though however. As long as it's somewhere in Texas next year, I'm fine with it. Easier to get to attend for us, and be able to watch a very good tournament.

Yeah it's tragic. I loved the Ballpark and went there tons growing up. My brother's company had club seats that we used frequently and it was just a great experience. I also just happened to like those teams of the 90s and 00s a lot too.

July and August were definitely hot so I get it. The worst sunburn of my life was a double-header in the cheap $8 seats in the outfield. The few times I've been to GLF we've had bad seats. But the concrete plastic field is just gross.

Same story for me. We shared season tickets with a few families growing up and I have probably been to more than 300 games at the old ballpark.

The new one tries to hard to be "entertainment" with constant noise and graphics. There isn't even a scoreboard to check the score that is always visible.

Also really dislike artificial turf for baseball.

Forcing the fielder to get to the white base there, even with the ball carrying him clearly to the foul side of the bag, seems like something they could adjust.

I've never been to the Hoover Met, but I look at the seating area, and it looks like it was designed to block wind flow between the lower seating bowl and the concourse. Combine that with a lack of shade, and it just looks miserably hot to me.

Doubt it. Hoover puts a lot into the tournament, I'll reckon they'll bid pretty well to keep it. Plus the hue and cry from the teams centered around Hoover would be great. Tournament will be in Hoover for three more years at least, as that's the contract.

I don't know how long Big 12 is contracted to be in Surprise, but I think they're going to find out pretty quickly it's not a lot of fun being out in the desert sun all day and move back to Globe Life.

If I'm the SEC I'd take more into account than bids. The fact that this tournament becomes a weather issue every year in Hoover gets old. I think I've watched games after midnight every year bc weather delays.

UK losing is ideal for us. If the Ags make a deep run in the SEC tourney, perspective will shift on us going above them and getting into the field.
