Broke my arm right in the middle of my forearm in the 6th grade. 1 bone was clean; the other bone green. ER doc said they need to break the other, and could do local or general.
I said local, he said yell if hurts too badly and I'll stop. He shot me up with a needle that looked like something a vet would use on a horse.
A few minutes later he says we're ready. He counted 3, 2, and before he got to 1 he proceeded to crank down on my fingers bending them backwards to nearly touch the top of my arm.
I yelled stop; he didn't. Mom passed out right there. He said almost done and a second later it was over. Most intense pain of my life.
An hour later I'm in a cast, discharged, and going to the local burger joint for a double, onion rings and a malt.

I had the same thing happen to the ring knuckle on my dominant hand in high school… I was dumb and didn't go to the doctor to have it reset and my hand has never closed quite the same since then. It was swollen to the point of being useless for two months, I can't imagine wanting to be game ready in 10 days after that, Jace is a damn beast
