"Gwinnett's offense came primarily from two sources as Braden Shewmake and Joe Dunand each connected for home runs. Unfortunately for Shewmake, that was not the only news related to him as he had a nasty collision out in left field on a fly ball with Travis Demeritte. Both players were laid out on the play and when Shewmake tried to get back up, he immediately went to the ground again and ultimately had to be carted off the field. Our initial look made us think it was some sort of left leg injury as it didn't seem like he could put weight on it at all, but the situation was almost handled like he could have had a head injury. Hopefully we get some clarity soon and we hope he gets well soon."

1990 A&M vs. Missouri at Olsen. 2B Trey Witte and RF Dan Robinson collide on a similar play, but the RF got the worst of it, with a knee to his head, breaking his upper jaw.

Dan was still pretty good after he came back from injury, but he was never the same as he was before he got hurt.

on a slightly different subject...is Naquin still the last aggie position player to make it to the show?

he made his MLB debut in 2016 with the Indians.

Shewmake got injured at AAA, so he is almost there

Torn PCL for Shewmake. Done for the year. Braves just lost Arcia too and Shewmake could have potentially gotten called up but they called up another younger but higher ranked prospect instead.

Braden and kid they called up (Vaughn Grissom) were both drafted in 2019, Braden in 1st round and Grissom in the 11th, but Grissom was right out of high school.

Grissom is a better hitter so far in his minor league career, but has been at lower levels than Braden. Grissom plays mainly 3B, but I am sure was called up because of Braden's injury.

There is room for both on the Braves roster, hopefully Braden gets a shot next spring.

Grissom has had a nice start in the show. Went 4 for 11 with a HR and a Double against the Astros this weekend.
